An encouraging Sunday provides foundation for the Junior Talent Team to build on
Danial Shahril flew the flag for the JTT at Circuito de Jerez – Angel Nieto with a pair of Top 20 results to sign off a trying weekend
The Malaysian moved forward in both FIM JuniorGP™ World Championship races from his starting position, the Asia Talent Team rider stayed out of trouble in Race 1 to record an important finish to collate more valuable data for Race 2. The #57 put the knowledge he acquired to good use with a higher finish, securing P16 in much warmer conditions, having been embroiled in a points-paying battle but missing out by one-tenth of a second. Danial Sharil showed increased speed in Race 2 and as the JTT makes its way to Aragon it is a good base to start.
Jakkreephat Phuettisan had another consistent day, keeping out of trouble for a P23 in Race 1, progressing from his starting position and enjoying a stellar ride to P18 in Race 2. The Thai showed impressive speed and racecraft to come through the field and was less than four seconds off a first-ever point. Another strong end to the weekend for the Honda Thailand Rider will give the #20 an extra boost for the penultimate round of the season, knowing that the points aren’t too far away.
Amon Odaki made solid progress in Race 1 and was embroiled in a group that could have seen the Asia Talent Team rider finish inside the Top 20, however the Japanese rider would narrowly miss out, coming across the line in P21. Confidence was high for Race 2, however the #56 concluded the racw in P25, however he will take heart from the fact he was seven seconds closer to the winner. Much like Phuettisan, Odaki continues an important learning year.
Arbi Aditama, had a difficult day, suffering a DNF in Race 1 on Lap 3 after running in P22 in the early stages of the race. Looking to rebound but have a safe finish to the weekend, the Astra Honda Racing Team rider came across the line for a P25 finish and will be looking to regroup and come back stronger in Aragon where the Indonesian will be hoping for a return to points.
The Junior Talent Team will be back in action for Round 6 of the FIM JuniorGP™ World Championship where the riders will be raring to make a points bounce-back on October 13th of October. See you there!
