Important points for Shahril and Odaki for the Junior Talent Team

Back-to-back races in Barcelona gave the Junior Talent Team a double bite at the cheery for a big day in the 2024 FIM JunioGP™ World Championship.

Danial Shahril, fresh off a P5 finish in Estoril and with confidence brimming came into Round 3 ready to push on and go even further. However, with the weather playing its part with the riders unable to finesse their setup ahead of racing action. The Malaysian put in a spirited ride in Race 1 but came home in P18. For Race 2, things would improve for the Asia Talent Team rider, the #57 went 5 positions better and took P13 to add to his points haul in 2024 and will look ahead to a strong result in Portimao, a place where the Malaysian picked up a Top 10 last year.

Amon Odaki continued to show improvement throughout the weekend. The Japanese rider, after qualifying P24, used Race 1 as a learning experience before taking 2 points in Race 2. As other riders fell by the wayside, the #56 showed maturity with a calm ride to P14, the Asia Talent team rider equaling his best result of the season.

It wasn’t the return to action Arbi Aditama had in mind. Race winner one year ago, the Indonesian had a learning weekend as he got back up to speed after missing the opening two rounds through injury. P28 in Race 1 and a DNF in Race 2 brought the weekend to a close early. However, the #93 showed strong speed and progressing into Q2 will give the Astra Honda Racing Team rider encouragement ahead of the next round.

Jakkreephat Phuettisan continued his adaptation to JuniorGP™ two solid races, chasing home Junior Talent Team stablemate Odaki in Race 1 the #20 missed out on some points in Race 2, taking P17 and showed with another weekend in the books, he Thai finds improvements throughout the weekend.

The JTT takes a small but well-earned break and heads to the rollercoaster in Portugal for Round 4 of the FIM JuniorGP™ World Championship in Portimao on June 23rd.
