Aditama bags breakthrough last-lap victory in brilliant Barcelona battle

The Junior Talent Team faced two grueling races under the beating Barcelona sun. Round 5 of the FIM JuniorGP World Championship through some challenging hurdles for the JTT riders, but the Indonesian Arbi Aditama rose to the occasion in an incredible Race 2 performance seeing him taste the champagne for the first time JuniorGP.

Sunday morning's Race 1 saw all four Talent Team riders start from the back of the grid after they were found to be riding slowly in multiple sectors during practice and qualifying. Tatchakorn Buasri made the most progress after the Thai rider flew to a solid 10th place finish, followed closely by Eddie O'Shea who bagged P12. Danial Shahril recovered to pick up the final point in the 15th with Arbi Aditama in P18.

Aditama rose to the occasion in Race 2 as he pushed his way to the front of a freight train of riders battling for victory in the closing stages. The Indonesian led into the final corner and was dragged to the line by David Almansa as the Spaniard finished 0.005s ahead of the Indonesian, but a breach of track limits for Almansa promoted Aditama to victory. Eddie O'Shea was also in victory contention and showing good pace, but was taken out of the race in the closing stages with Buasri and Shahril also failing to finish.

The victory has promoted Aditama from 20th in the standings up to 16th, as Buasri holds onto a top 10 spot with Eddie O'Shea dropping from 11th to 12th.

The Junior Talent Team now have a lengthy summer break ahead of the next round at Aragon which will take place from the 6th to the 8th of October.
