Buasri finishes 5th in Race 2 of the JuniorGP in Jerez

The Circuito de Jerez - Ángel Nieto hosted the fourth round of the FIM JuniorGP season, and Asia Talent Team riders Tatchakorn Buasri and Fadillah Arbi Aditama finished 13th and 16th in Race 1, and 5th and DNF in Race 2, respectively.

In the morning race, held with a very cloudy sky and optimal conditions on track, Tatchakorn Buasri dropped down the order after contact with another rider while fighting to chase down the front group. He finally finished 13th. Arbi Aditama, who had problems at the start, managed to climb five places, but the dense group he was in kept him out of the battle for points, despite his finishing 16th.

In Race 2, Buasri managed to stay in contention for the podium throughout, but finally settled for a positive 5th place. Arbi, despite making a good start, suffered a crash on the second lap, ending his race prematurely.

After these two races, Buasri is seventh in the JuniorGP standings, with 55 points. Arbi Aditama is 25th, with 1 point.

The next FIM JuniorGP round -a single race- will be held in two weeks' time, on July 17th, at the Autodromo do Algarve in Portugal.

This weekend we have made improvement. I crashed twice in free practice, and I lost some confidence. On Saturday, however, I was able to recover from the situation and tried to focus on what I did wrong and how the other riders were doing things. In the first race I was doing well, but a rider touched me and I lost a lot of positions, despite finally being able to fight back to thirteenth place. In the second, I had to push hard because I weigh very little and it takes its toll, but in the end I managed to finish fifth.

Despite not doing very well in the first race, I tried to concentrate and overtake other riders, one by one. In the middle of the race, someone touched me and this caused me to drop far away from the second group. Even so, I was able to make up some positions and, with a good last lap, finish 16th. I felt good on the bike. In the second race I got a good start, but I made a mistake at Turn 2 and, when trying to rejoin the group, I lost the front end and crashed. It has been a difficult weekend, but now it's time to focus on Portimao, which is a circuit that I like.
