Kato finishes P13 in the Feature Race in Hungary
On Sunday 26 July, the Feature Race for FIA F3 Round 7 was held at the Hungaroring in Hungary.

Feature Race: P18 on the grid → P13
The Feature Race started at 8:40am on Sunday 26 July in dry conditions, with an air temperature of 22°C and a track temperature of 25°C. As in the previous day’s Sprint Race, intense battles developed throughout the field from the start.
Taito Kato started from 18th on the grid and initially dropped to 19th, before returning to 18th when the car ahead pitted on Lap 2. Meanwhile, two cars made contact while battling in the final sector on the opening lap and stopped on track, prompting the deployment of the Safety Car (SC).
Racing resumed on Lap 6, but another car stopped on track later that same lap, triggering a Virtual Safety Car (VSC). After the race resumed on Lap 7, the action settled down. Kato moved up to 17th when a car stopped at the side of the track on Lap 12, then gained another position to 16th when another car went off on Lap 14.
At Turn 1 on Lap 15, three cars turned into the corner side by side. The car on the inside spun, while the car on the outside sustained damage and retired at the side of the track, bringing out the SC for a second time. Kato moved up to 14th during this sequence, but lost one position after the restart on Lap 18. He then ran in 15th and took the chequered flag in that position at the end of the 24-lap race.
After the race, the drivers who had finished P5 and P8 received penalties, promoting Kato to 13th in the final classification.
The 2026 FIA Formula 3 Championship season now enters a summer break of approximately one month. An official test will be held in Madrid on Monday 24 and Tuesday 25 August, before Round 8 takes place at Monza Circuit in Italy from 4 to 6 September.
