The Dream. The Challenge.

Honda Racing Corporation (HRC) announced today a project titled "The Dream. The Challenge." HRC has always embraced "dreams" and continuously pursued "challenges" to realise them. At its core lies "The Power of Dreams," a philosophy that forms the foundation of Honda's manufacturing and challenges, and is carried on as the origin of HRC's racing activities. This project, "The Dream. The Challenge," will unfold video content and events throughout the year, reflecting on HRC's history of "dreams" and "challenges" spanning over 60 years, while also communicating the significance of future challenges.

Honda's challenge in the World Racing Championship began with the Isle of Man TT race in 1959. As the first Japanese manufacturer to participate in a Grand Prix, Honda competed in the top 500cc class with the RC181 in 1966, achieving victory in the first year of participation and laying the foundation for later world title wins. The "challenges" accumulated in the extreme environment of racing have supported the evolution of HRC's technological capabilities. For HRC, "challenge" is an indispensable process for continuing to pursue "dreams." Even when faced with changes in the competitive environment or the emergence of new rivals, Honda will always continue to challenge at the forefront.

"The Dream. The Challenge." Project Overview

This project will develop diverse content to allow fans to feel closer to HRC's history and efforts. The dedicated website, "https://honda.racing/page/dream-challenge," will sequentially release videos and photos, showcasing Honda's racing history from multiple perspectives.

Furthermore, this project aims to share the values and philosophy that HRC has cherished, while tracing the history of "challenges" accumulated so far, and to pass them on to the next generation. As MotoGP enters a new era, we believe that continuing to confront change and challenges will lead to further growth and evolution.

■Honda Racing Corporation (HRC) President & CEO, Koji Watanabe

“The Power of Dreams brought us to the Isle of Man in 1959 and started an incredible journey in Grand Prix racing. Our adventure started with the 125cc RC142 and our challenge would grow across all classes, joining the premier class in 1966 and earning the incredible achievement of five Constructor Championships in a single year. Inside HRC, we are of course incredibly proud of our history and through the second half of 2027, we will be celebrating not only our achievements but also the challenges we have overcome.

“At the heart of Honda is The Power of Dreams. It is what drives each and every one of us to strive for lofty targets. But The Challenge behind The Dream is what has helped us learn and grow, especially over the last 60 years in the premier class of MotoGP. Now is a time to look back and reflect at all the successes and challenges we have faced and use them as fuel for the next era – not just in MotoGP but in all of our racing endeavours. We hope you enjoy the next few months, just a small way of saying thank you to all the fans who always support us. As long as there are dreams worth chasing and circuits worth conquering, HRC will be there - building the machines, developing the riders, teaching the engineers and thrilling race fans.”
