On Tuesday September 30, Honda Racing Corporation (HRC) unveiled a prototype of its new GT500 machine, set to compete in the 2026 SUPER GT series.

Based on the new Prelude launched in the Japanese market recently and developed at HRC Sakura, the prototype was rolled out of the garage by HRC staff and began its first laps on a wet Sugo track. Tadasuke Makino took the wheel first, followed by Naoki Yamamoto, as the car completed initial checks and continued to run smoothly while testing various parts and settings through the morning program.
An afternoon session was cancelled due to adverse weather forecasts.
