Pierre Gasly 10

Pierre Gasly

He started kart racing at the age of 10 and made his single-seater debut in the French F4 Championship in 2011. After finishing third overall, he moved up to Formula Renault 2.0 the following year and won the championship in his second year.

In 2014, he moved up to Formula Renault 3.5, finishing 2nd overall, and the following year he competed fully in the GP2 Series (now Formula 2 Championship), the gateway to F1, while also serving as a reserve driver for Red Bull Racing. With no F1 seat available at the time, he moved to Japan to compete in the All-Japan Super Formula Championship, where he finished on the podium three times, including two wins, and went into the final round with the title on the line, only to finish second overall due to a typhoon that canceled the race.

He made his F1 debut with Scuderia Toro Rosso at the end of 2017, competing in three races, and in 2018, he competed fully, finishing 4th in the Bahrain Grand Prix. 2019 saw him move to his brother team, Red Bull Racing, but he returned to Toro Rosso for the second half of the season. In 2020, he will continue with Scuderia AlphaTauri Honda (formerly Toro Rosso). In the team's home Grand Prix of Italy, the eighth round of the season, he started from 10th place in the qualifying session and won the race for the first time in his career. In 2021, he showed his speed by qualifying a personal best tie for 4th three times and finished on the podium in 3rd place at the 6th round in Azerbaijan. He will continue to race for Scuderia AlphaTauri in 2022.
