Aston Martin Aramco Formula One Team We are currently investigating an issue with the car that kept us in the garage at the end of Q1. We missed the opportunity to use a fresh set of tyres, which meant our Qualifying was cut short and we did not get the chance to improve our lap time. We know we are behind our competitors, particularly with the lack of pace we have on the straights, which makes this circuit very tough.

Aston Martin Aramco Formula One Team The result today was as we expected and we have always known this track was going to be a real challenge. We are missing power, which is what you need around this circuit. It's going to be a difficult race for us tomorrow.

Aston Martin Aramco Formula One Team A tough Saturday in Monza with these high-speed circuit characteristics not suited to our package right now. We tried to get tows with both cars throughout Q1, but we were simply missing the pace to progress to Q2. Tomorrow will be a similar challenge, so we will try and maximise the things we can control and take any opportunities that come our way.

Honda Monza is a challenge for our power unit, and the qualifying result reflects this. We still have been working on the power unit performance by changing some data settings, but we are where we are at this track.
We continue to move in the right direction with our driveability, and we will prepare for tomorrow’s race as much as possible.
Unfortunately, Fernando couldn’t do another run in qualifying. In terms of what happened exactly, we’re still checking the data.
