The 18-time outdoor champion wins on day one. His teammate, Gabriel Marcelli, is third.
The first day in Ripoll was a success one for the Repsol Honda Team riders, as Toni Bou took his tenth win of the year in TrialGP. Gabriel Marcelli rounded off the podium and kept the advantage in the chase for the runner-up position, maintaining the lead over his main rival, Jaime Busto.
Bou had clinched the title at the previous round in Cahors (France). Nevertheless, he gave his all on the first day of the Spanish TrialGP. From Lap 1, Bou took the lead in the standings in a trial where every point was valuable, due to how close the riders were. For the second lap, the Repsol Honda rider continued in the same vein and took his tenth victory of a fantastic outdoor season.
A great performance was also put in by Marcelli, who this weekend is fighting for the runner-up position in the standings with Jaime Busto. On the first lap, after having some difficulties in Zones 1 and 2, the Montesa Cota 4RT rider placed fifth with 28 penalty points. On the second lap, the Galician rider took a step forward and snatched third place. He maintains second position in the standings with a 5-point advantage.
On Sunday the second race will be held in Ripoll, closing the season. The action will start at 9am local time.
