Mario Aji Shows Improvement During Qualifying Day at Phillip Island
Phillip IslandIDEMITSU Honda Team Asia concluded the Qualifying day for the Australian Grand Prix at Phillip Island, where Indonesian rookie Mario Suryo Aji showcased his potential. Aji came very close to securing a spot in Q2, but a mistake in the final sector of his best lap kept him out of the second qualifying session. Despite this, Aji demonstrated promising speed in both wet and dry conditions, and he is fully prepared to perform well in the race and compete for points tomorrow here in Australia.

Mario Aji performed well in qualifying under dry conditions, and he was very close to securing a spot in Q2. Unfortunately, a small mistake cost him some time, and he couldn’t advance to the second qualifying session. However, he rode impressively, which is a positive sign for us. Tomorrow, we will start from 19th position on the grid, but I believe he has the potential to deliver a strong race. Let's see what we can achieve tomorrow.

IDEMITSU Honda Team Asia Today was very positive. We chose not to ride in the final practice session in the morning due to the mixed weather conditions and went straight into qualifying. The session went well, and I felt comfortable throughout, despite the strong winds. I made a small mistake in the last sector, which prevented me from achieving an ideal lap time.
The team has done excellent work, and we are moving in the right direction. It's unfortunate that I missed out on Q2, as it was in our hands, but we are focusing on the positives. We are analyzing the data to determine what we can improve for tomorrow. I’m happy with the bike’s performance, and we were fast in all conditions, even though we struggled in the dry yesterday. Today, we made significant progress.
I’m excited for tomorrow’s race and eager to score some points. I’ll give my best effort, and I want to thank my team for their hard work, belief in me, and continuous support. I’m determined to perform at my best for both the team and myself.
