Chantra and Aji are ready for a thrilling race tomorrow at the Mugello
Autodromo del MugelloThe IDEMITSU Honda Team Asia riders successfully concluded the qualifying day of the Italian Grand Prix at the Autodromo Internazionale del Mugello.
Thai rider Somkiat Chantra continued his upward trajectory, improving his lap time from yesterday. However, during the time attack in the qualifying session, he encountered heavy traffic, which didn’t allowed him to complete his perfect lap. Nonetheless, he secured the 8th position for tomorrow's race. Meanwhile, Indonesian Mario Aji continues his progress and narrow the gap with the top riders. The rookie managed to finish in 22nd position.

On this qualifying day at the Autodromo Internazionale del Mugello, the weather was favorable, and we were not affected by rain, which was crucial for maintaining the progress we made yesterday. Mario Aji took another step forward today, finishing in 22nd position. He is showing a promising rhythm and he’s getting closer to the riders competing for points. We hope he can continue his progression and reach the points zone during the race, as he did in Catalunya. Somkiat Chantra also made improvements. However, given the highly competitive nature of this category, he wasn't able to achieve the perfect lap time he desired, despite improving his lap time. He finished in 8th position and has the rhythm to perform even better tomorrow. Overall, it was a positive qualifying day. We will focus on analyse what happened today, refining the minor aspects that the riders need to improve to ensure a strong race performance tomorrow at Mugello. I have a positive feeling for tomorrow's race.

IDEMITSU Honda Team Asia This weekend has been positive for me. Since Friday, I have had a good feeling with the bike. Today, we improved our lap times compared to yesterday's practice sessions. We believe that we have a good path for the race. Unfortunately, during the qualifying session, we encountered a lot of traffic, which made it very difficult to achieve an optimal lap time. As a result, we did not secure a very strong lap time. Nevertheless, I am happy with the bike and the progress we have made. I will do my best to achieve a good result in tomorrow's race.

IDEMITSU Honda Team Asia Today was an enjoyable qualifying day at Mugello. We are getting closer, bit by bit, to the faster riders. I am very happy with the team, who continuously help me progress by analyzing data and providing valuable advice both on and off the track. This synergy between their work and mine is yielding positive results, and I am very grateful for their effort. As the races pass, we are closing the gap to the top riders, and the top 10 is not far out of reach. The important thing is the positive feeling we have now. Although I had a crash yesterday, the team and I did not lost time overthinking about it; instead, we worked hard today to keep improving the bike and our lap times. I hope that tomorrow we can continue this positive trajectory and have a strong race.
