Revamped Foxhills welcomes Honda HRC PETRONAS
Great Britain hosts the 12th round of the 2026 MXGP World Championships, with Foxhills making it’s long-awaited return to the calendar. The historic track replaces the popular Matterley Basin, but the newly released videos and photos of the circuit show that it has received a modern-revamp and every member of Honda HRC PETRONAS is excited to put some tyre-marks on this fresh terrain.

Jeffrey Herlings is especially motivated after being crowned Dutch champion this past weekend, and having won two of the previous three rounds. While the deficit in the title standings is still larger than he’d like, he’s determined to put everything into this second half of the season and that begins in a country where he won numerous times throughout his career.
While none of the trio of Ruben Fernandez, Tom Vialle or Valerio Lata have the same experience Herlings does in the UK, all three riders have seen the video clips of the circuit and can’t wait to see how it rides. Vialle is showing signs of the speed that saw him win the MXGP of Switzerland, while Fernandez has had a weekend to recover after his battling performances in South Africa. Lata enjoyed an off-weekend from the GPs, by competing in a night race, which hopefully has reset his season and give him renewed determination to finish this season on a high.
With the weather forecast looking perfect for the weekend, and a new circuit to look forward to, everyone is in buoyant mood and excited to see what Foxhills has in store.

It’s been good to have a weekend off, just to recover and get myself back to 100% after what was a tough last few rounds. The races are coming thick and fast to end the season so I want to be as fit as possible for this last run of races and that starts in England this weekend. I’ve never raced at this track, and it’s a shame that we aren’t at Matterley anymore but it looks like they’ve done a good job so I’m going to try and get a good result there.

South Africa was a step in the right direction for me, and that was nice to have, as I felt a lot more positive heading into this past weekend off. I now know a bit more about what needs to be done and what work I can do to get to the level I want to be at. Of course, it won’t be easy as the rest of the field are riding at a high level, but I’m confident that I will be back on the podium soon. I haven’t ridden Foxhills before, but I’ve seen some videos that make it look cool, and I’ve heard all about the atmosphere, so hopefully we can have a good weekend and have some fun new experiences.

It was cool winning the Dutch Championship again last weekend. I really enjoy racing in the championship, on some fun tracks against some tough opposition. We have some sand races coming up in the next month or so, so it’s good practice for that, but for me I think it’s important to keep the intensity high on this off-weekends from the GPs. We have Foxhills coming now, and I really like racing in the UK too, and I see they have changed the track quite a lot for this event. I guess we’ll see how it is when we get there, but hopefully it’ll be another successful race.

I had a fun night-race in this break, which was nice. A good change and one that’ll hopefully give me a bit of fresh incentive for this weekend. The Foxhills track looks fun, from the videos and photos I’ve seen, so I’m looking forward to getting there and figuring it out. I want to try and enjoy the racing and just get back to having fun and I think that should help my results.

A triple-header of races is always tough and the last one was definitely filled with up and downs. We now have another one coming up with a new track this weekend, followed by two very familiar races in Loket and Lommel. Foxhills does look like a fun one, and it’ll be good to go to England and see what they’ve done to the historic track. It also looks like the weather will be good so I think the whole team are excited to get to this one and start this final run of eight rounds in 10 weekends.
