Small details keep Taiyo and Mario away from the front places

Both have shown enough speed to fight for the points tomorrow in a Moto3 race, which is expected to be very close as the differences between the riders are minimal.

Our riders have improved their performance today. Taiyo did well in Q1, finishing first and gaining a place in Q2. We expected a good position on the grid, but unfortunately, he had a small problem on his second outing that prevented him from running correctly. Mario also improved his lap time. The traffic affected him a lot on his flying lap. Both had clear options for a better grid position, but they did an excellent global qualifying. Tomorrow will be the day to show his potential in the race.

Today I felt well from the first lap this morning. On the FP3, I lost a direct place to Q2 due to the yellow flags, but I was confident, and in Q1, I improved my lap time to gain a place in Q2. There, I had some problems, first with the laps cancelled due to the yellow flags again, and after, on my second outing, with a minor problem on the bike. Then, I didn’t make lap time. Sometimes that happens; let’s see tomorrow.

I should say I felt comfortable on the bike during the weekend. In Q1, I didn’t make my ideal time because, in sector 1, I found a slow rider, losing a lot of time. The position is quite far from behind, but the important is that I have confidence on the bike. I can push when I want. Today I feel more ready than yesterday. That is a positive sign. I want to do a great race tomorrow.
