Furusato Continues Strong Progress at Brno with Another Points Finish
The Moto2 World Championship completed its ninth race of the 2026 season at the Automotodrom Brno in Czechia, with Idemitsu Honda Team Asia riders Taiyo Furusato and Jacob Roulstone facing a demanding race under extremely hot conditions.

In a physically challenging 18-lap race, both riders showed determination and continued their positive progression with the Moto2 machine. Taiyo Furusato once again confirmed his improvement in the intermediate category, fighting close to the points-paying positions for the majority of the race before eventually crossing the finish line in 14th position.
The Japanese rookie, who scored his first Moto2 World Championship points in Hungary, added another two points to his season tally at Brno. This result confirms the positive direction of his adaptation process and the consistent progress he is making together with the team, becoming a regular contender to fight inside the points zone.
On the other side of the garage, Jacob Roulstone completed another valuable race experience. The Australian rookie finished 24th after continuing to adapt to the Moto2 bike and the level of competition. Despite losing some positions during the opening stages, Roulstone maintained his focus and continued reducing the gap with the riders ahead.
With no time to rest, both riders will immediately shift their focus to the next challenge. In just seven days, the Moto2 World Championship will arrive at the iconic TT Circuit Assen for the tenth round of the 2026 season.

Today was a really hot and tough race. The conditions were very demanding, especially with the high temperatures, and the race felt quite long because of the heat. At the beginning, both riders had some issues with the tyre feeling and unfortunately they lost some positions. Taiyo also had some contact with another rider, and Jacob lost positions during the start, so both riders had to recover from that point. In the end, Taiyo managed to come back and finish 14th, while Jacob finished 24th. Both riders showed progression and improvement. If we had not lost so much at the beginning, maybe the result could have been even better because the gaps during the race were very small. The most important point is that both riders continue improving and we can carry this positive momentum into next week. We are moving in the right direction. Thanks to our sponsors, supporters and all the staff for their work, and now we look forward to Assen.

Today was another positive day and probably the best weekend of the season so far. The feeling with the bike was good, and I think the work we did together with the team was excellent throughout the weekend. The race was not easy because the conditions were very hot, and at the beginning I lost some positions, but I was able to keep pushing and recover during the race. I felt competitive and I could fight with the riders around me, which is a very positive feeling.Of course, the result could have been even better, but I am satisfied because we are making progress step by step. We are becoming stronger every weekend, and this result confirms that the direction we are taking is the correct one. I want to continue working and keep improving at the next race.

It was another important learning race for me. The beginning was difficult because I lost some positions and I had to recover, but I kept fighting and tried to understand more about the bike and the way to manage the race. The feeling throughout the weekend has improved, and every session I am learning more about the Moto2 machine, the tyres and how to ride in this category. The gaps are getting smaller, and I can feel that I am making progress together with the team. There are still many things to improve, but races like today are important for gaining experience. We will take the positive points from Brno and continue working hard to make another step forward in future races.
