FURUSATO CONTINUES RISING TRAJECTORY WITH P13 AT BRNO QUALIFYING DAY
Idemitsu Honda Team Asia Moto2 riders Taiyo Furusato and Jacob Roulstone completed qualifying day for the ninth round of the 2026 Moto2 World Championship at the legendary Automotodrom Brno in Czechia.

Under sunny skies and extremely hot conditions, both riders continued working on improving their feeling with the Moto2 machine around the demanding Czech circuit. The day started positively during the final practice session, with Furusato finishing FP2 in 17th position and continuing to build confidence ahead of Sunday's race. Meanwhile, Roulstone focused on fine-tuning the bike and improving his understanding of the machine, ending the session in 27th place.
During qualifying, rookie Taiyo Furusato continued his positive progression after securing direct access to Q2 on Friday. The Japanese rider showed strong pace throughout the session and was involved in the fight close to the top ten. He eventually secured 13th position with a lap time of 1'58.829, meaning he will start tomorrow's race from the fifth row of the grid.
After scoring his first Moto2 World Championship points in Hungary, Furusato continues to gain confidence and prove his improvement race by race. The result at Brno confirms the positive direction of his adaptation process to the intermediate category.
On the other side of the garage, Jacob Roulstone had a more challenging qualifying session. The Australian finished Q1 in 12th position and will start Sunday's race from 26th place on the grid. Despite the final position, Roulstone showed progress throughout the day, making changes to the bike and himself that helped him feel more comfortable ahead of the race.
With a long Moto2 race ahead and hot conditions expected, both riders are motivated to fight and maximise their potential at the Automotodrom Brno.

Today was another very hot day, but the weather was good. The conditions were quite difficult because as the temperature increased, the grip level changed and it became more challenging. Even with this, both riders improved and got closer to the riders in front. Taiyo finished 13th and Jacob 26th, but we can see that both riders are making progress, which is an important point. Tomorrow we have a long race ahead, and we hope we can repeat this performance on Sunday. If we can manage the tyres well and continue this direction, I believe we can be more competitive during the race. Let's see.

Today was a positive day. After yesterday, where we already made a good step and got directly into Q2, today we continued improving. The feeling with the bike is getting better and better. We are still learning many things, but I feel more confident every weekend and I can push more. In qualifying 2 I was fighting close to the top ten, and finishing P13 is a good result considering where we started this season. Of course, there are still areas where we can improve, especially to be stronger in qualifying and the race, but I am happy with the progress we are making together with the team. Tomorrow is the important day. The race will be long and difficult, especially with these hot conditions, but I will give my best and try to fight for a good result.

It was a bit of a tricky but positive day. This morning was quite difficult from my side, but during qualifying we made some small changes on the bike and also some important changes in myself, and I felt much better. Unfortunately, I couldn't complete a proper lap and I was also held up by some riders, which was a bit frustrating because I felt we had more potential. But the feeling is positive heading into tomorrow's race. I was able to make some good practice starts and I also feel comfortable with used tyres, which is important for the race. Starting from 26th is not ideal, but I will fight, try to make a good start and recover as many positions as possible.
