Aji Shines in Goiânia as Qualifying Moves to a Super Sunday Showdown
A strong and positive Saturday for IDEMITSU Honda Team Asia at the Brazilian Grand Prix, with Mario Aji delivering an impressive P3 in FP2 under fully dry conditions at the Autódromo Internacional de Goiânia – Ayrton Senna. The Indonesian rider showed strong pace and confidence throughout the session, confirming the solid performance already seen on Friday and putting himself in a very competitive position heading into qualifying.

On the other side of the garage, Taiyo Furusato continued his steady adaptation, finishing P25 while clearly reducing the gap to the front group. The Japanese rookie showed better feeling with the bike in dry conditions and made another step forward, building confidence ahead of the key sessions to come.
Unfortunately, qualifying could not take place due to track condition issues, forcing Race Direction to postpone the session to Sunday morning. This sets up an intense “Super Sunday” in Goiânia, with both qualifying and race scheduled for the same day. The team now focuses on keeping the momentum and delivering strong performances in both sessions to maximize the final race result.

Unfortunately today we couldn’t have the qualifying session because of track condition issues, so it has been postponed to tomorrow morning. Anyway, we had a productive FP2, especially with Mario, who showed very good pace and better confidence compared to yesterday. The track was close to fully dry, which allowed both riders to push more. Taiyo also improved in these conditions and managed to reduce the gap to the front, even if there is still work to do. It’s a pity we couldn’t complete qualifying today, but now we focus on tomorrow. It will be a demanding day, and we need to be ready to deliver in both qualifying and the race.

Today I had a really good feeling. I could enjoy the riding more compared to yesterday and we tried a few things, mainly in my riding style, and it worked well in dry conditions. The plan was to continue this progression into qualifying, but unfortunately we have to wait until tomorrow.I’m happy with how the bike is working and with the job from the team. The feeling is good, and I want to keep this momentum. The most important thing is that we are improving every session. Tomorrow will be a long day, but I feel ready in any condition, so now we just focus on giving our best in both qualifying and the race.

Today we made a step forward. I could reduce the gap to the riders in front and I’m starting to understand better both the track and the bike in these conditions. It’s still not where I want to be, but the direction is positive.I’m getting more comfortable lap by lap, and that’s important. Of course, I want to be further up, but this is part of the process. Tomorrow will be a busy day with qualifying and the race, so the focus is to keep improving, get the best possible grid position and then try to have a solid race. I’m ready to give my best.
