br Autódromo Internacional de Goiânia – Ayrton Senna

A demanding and intense race at the Brazilian Grand Prix saw Honda Team Asia take its first Moto2 points of the season, with Mario Aji finishing P13 after a hard-fought race at the Autódromo Internacional de Goiânia – Ayrton Senna. In extremely hot and challenging conditions, the Indonesian rider showed solid pace throughout most of the race, staying close to the top 10 group during the first half.

As the race progressed, tyre management became key, and Aji lost some positions in the final stages, eventually crossing the line in 13th place. Despite not achieving the result he was aiming for after a strong weekend, it marks his first points of the season and confirms the positive direction. The focus now is to build on this performance, keep the confidence high and convert the speed shown into stronger results in the upcoming rounds.

On the other side of the garage, Taiyo Furusato showed encouraging signs before an unfortunate end to his race. The Japanese rookie was competitive and fighting close to the points positions, running around P16 and showing good pace in the group. However, a small mistake dropped him down the order, and later, with just a few laps remaining, he crashed and was unable to finish the race. Despite the result, his performance confirmed steady progress and valuable experience gained in only his second Moto2 race. The team now looks ahead to the next round at Circuit of the Americas, where both riders aim to take another step forward and continue building momentum in the championship.

It was a very hot and long race, and both riders were fighting hard in these conditions. They were consistent and both had the chance to fight for points during the race. Unfortunately, Taiyo crashed near the end while he was still fighting close to the points, but the positive thing is that he is okay.

On Mario’s side, he gave his best today and finished P13. Considering his pace during the weekend, we expected a bit more, so of course we are not fully satisfied. But now we take the points, learn from this race and focus on the next one in the USA.

The important thing today was to finish the race and bring the bike to the checkered flag. I struggled a bit with the grip from the middle of the race, and we are still missing around three tenths compared to the top riders.

The feeling on the bike was not bad, but we know we can improve both on my side and on the bike side. P13 is not a bad result, and I want to use this to build my confidence. Now we focus on improving and coming back stronger next week.

Overall, the feeling during the race was not bad. I was able to stay close to the points positions and fight with the group, which is positive for me. Step by step I’m starting to understand better the bike and the race dynamics in Moto2.

Of course, I made a mistake and then crashed, so I couldn’t finish the race. That’s something I need to learn from. It’s part of the process as a rookie, and now the focus is to take this experience, improve and come back stronger in the next race.
