Celebrating Honda heritage at Goodwood

Heritage and modern machines mark 60 years since Honda entered Formula 1 and the longest history in MotoGP at the Goodwood Festival of Speed

At the 2024 Goodwood Festival of Speed, Honda marked the occasion of 60 years since it first entered Formula 1, in 1964, just one year after the company started producing automobiles.

To celebrate, Honda brought together Yuki Tsunoda, the 1965 RA272 and the 2022 RB18, as well as a pair of motorcycles to celebrate an unbroken and deep history in Grand Prix motorcycling: The 1959 RC142 and the 2024 RC213V.

1965 RA272: the car which won Honda's first Formula 1 Grand Prix, at the hands of Richie Ginther at the Mexico Grand Prix. This maiden victory came just one year after Honda entered Formula 1. At Goodwood, piloted by Yuki Tsunoda

2022 RB18: the car with which Max Verstappen won his second Formula 1 Drivers' World Championship title

1959 RC142: the motorcycle with which Honda entered World Grand Prix, with the entry into the demanding and unforgiving Isle of Man TT. Ridden by Shinya Nakano at Goodwood

2024 RC213V: the latest incarnation of Honda's MotoGP machine, representing a history in the sport which has yielded a record more than 800 wins. Ridden by Stefan Bradl at Goodwood
